Welcome to our Nurture suite!
Nurture sessions are founded on evidence-based practices and offer a short-term, inclusive, focused intervention that works in the long term. There are around 6-8 children in each group and is run twice a week in the afternoon sessions.
When you are in Nurture you are either with Mrs Tallon or Mrs Godfrey.
In Nurture we focus on how we are feeling and why. Then short activities are created around this. We follow a theme each week such as an author or seasonal occasions (Remembrance Day, Bonfire Night, Easter, Ash Wednesday). The time in Nurture is structured so the children know what is expected of them and how their time in there will be spent.
We have lots of fun in Nurture and learn how to develop our confidence, how to listen to others and how to take pride in achieving new things. Food is shared at ‘snack time’ allowing opportunities for social interaction, listening to others and being listened to.
