At St Martha’s Catholic Primary School we believe that all children should gain a strong understanding of key knowledge about how computers and computer systems work and how they are designed and programmed. Children should have a strong awareness of the changing technological world and how to use it confidently and safely. We believe that a wide range of good quality resources used can help enhance the teaching and learning in lessons. All computer skills learnt are revisited and developed throughout their time at St Martha’s.
We are using the ‘Purple Mash’ scheme that works in line with the 2014 National Curriculum objectives for computing which can be seen in our whole school curriculum planning. Our computing objectives will be covered during computing lessons and we will continue to use a cross curriculum approach to help support themes which are used across subjects throughout a half term or term.
