We welcome you back from the Christmas holidays, and hope that you all had a restful break. This half term has begun very differently from planned and we thank you all, for your patience and understanding while we all get used to new ways of working.
We are continuing with our wide range of lessons this term through remote learning using Google Classroom and daily ‘meets’. In maths we are learning about written methods for multiplication and division, this will be followed by a unit of work on money and then statistics. In English we are looking at biographies and autobiographies, followed by recounts and nonchronological reports. In Religious Education we are looking at being a Christian, the lead up to lent and how we can be more like Jesus. In Science we will be focussing on magnets and forces. For children in school our PE days will continue as per last term.
A new home learning menu is available on the website and on Class Dojo should you wish to complete extra home learning to the work timetabled on Google Classroom. If your child is in school as a key worker child they may wish to continue to complete weekly choices from the menu. This should be sent in via Class Dojo by Friday. We are continuing our weekly spellings using Spelling Shed which links to spellings on the weekly Google Classroom timetable. Please try to read with your child every day. There is some helpful advice for reading with your child and a list of top books for year 3 on the Year 3 section of the school website.
We look forward to working with you this term and hopefully see you all soon back at school.
With best wishes,
Mrs Shine and Mrs Heino
