Welcome to Year 4

10th September 2018

Dear Parents/Guardians,

Welcome to Year 4

Welcome back to school after a well-earned holiday. I hope your holiday was restful and you are ready for a hardworking and enjoyable term. Here is an introductory newsletter to inform you of the weekly routine in Year 4.

What and When…

· P.E takes place on Monday and Wednesday – Yr. 4 blue and Thursday and Friday – Yr.4 Yellow. Full kits need to be in school every day as we will also be including the daily mile. Children need track suit bottoms for cold weather including trainers, and socks for girls that wear tights. Please ensure that earrings are removed before your child comes to school on P.E days if your child is unable to remove them independently . Also, the kits need to be in their school yellow PE bags. Thank you.

· Home learning is set on Fridays and is due in on the following Wednesday.

· English tasks and target times tables are set on Friday with the home learning menu. One task from the menu should be completed independently each week.

· Your child will have an independent reading book. To maximise their progress in reading and therefore in writing, they must read at home for 10 minutes each day, both independently and to a willing listener. Also, please continue to make comments about your child’s reading in their book, they can make comments too! Please keep an eye on your child’s reading and ensure that their reading record book is in school with their reading book, every day.
