Friday 10 th January 2020
We are excited to welcome you back from the Christmas holidays, and hope that you all had a wonderful break.
We are continuing with our wide range of lessons this term. In maths we are learning about formal written methods for addition, subtraction, multiplication and division this will be followed by money and data handling. In English we are looking at biographies and autobiographies, followed by recounts and non-chronological reports. In Religious Education we are looking at being a Christian, the lead up to lent and how we can be more like Jesus. In Science we will be focussing on rocks and fossils. We will be developing our strength and flexibility through gymnastics and fitness. PE days will continue as last term.
Your child will be sent home with a new home learning menu, they need to choose one piece of home learning from this to do each week , and only one piece is to be handed in every Wednesday . Our beat your best challenges will be completed every Tuesday and Friday. Please try to read with your child every day, and log it in their reading diary. A guided reading book will be sent home with your child every Monday; we will be reading with your children throughout the week so please ensure your child’s guided reading book is kept in their bags after reading at home. Please continue to continue to use table rock stars with your child.
Please can you bring your child’s lunch money in a named envelope if they are having hot dinners and report any absences to the office in the morning, before 9am, if your child is unwell. We will not have an assembly this term as we have our joint Easter production with Year 4 (more details to follow). Our Year 3 Mass is on 6 th February , all are welcome.
We look forward to seeing you throughout the year.
With best wishes,
Mrs Shine and Mrs Chapman
